Telemar (OI) is, in Brazil, the largest telecommunications company in billings and number of installed telephones, servicing some 30 million customers in the regions where it operates. Due to the diversity of its occupancy (offices, technical areas etc.), its real estate portfolio is enormous and quite varied. Telemar selected the contracts with greatest financial weight and sought ways to reduce their respective costs.
Ocupantes undertook the revision/renewal of these leases, bearing in mind three delicate points: a heated real estate market, the need to preserve Telemar’s relations with the landlords, and the need to revise costs earlier than established in the lease contracts, this latter point being the most important.

The Ocupantes team conducted the negotiations zealously, submitting data in line with the real estate market and, at the end, obtaining discounts or cancellation of CPI adjustments in all the contracts involved. The professionalism of Ocupantes enabled Telemar to maintain its good relationship with the owners, further generating savings, which in all reached approximately R$ 2 million for the period covered by the contracts involved.
