The client - “Philips do Brasil” is a subsidiary of Royal Philips Electronics of Holland, present in Brazil for 81 years. Leader in the local electronics market, equipment for satellite TV reception, portable home electrical goods, personal care apparel and lighting and electrical components, Philips is also active in the telecom, IT and medical/hospital apparel segments.
The situation – The semi-conductor subdivision of Philips in Brazil was growing strongly and required new space. Some criteria were to be observed, such as the need to maintain corporate image, the need for an IT infrastructure sufficient to attend demand, ease of access, all within a pre-established budget and within a very short time frame.
The results obtained – The heads of Philips Real Estate already new Ocupantes and new that they could count on agility of research and negotiations. Following the recommendation of head-office, Philips Semiconductors retained Ocupantes to assist in the search for a new site.
The assignment started with the delivery of a report with all the possible choices in the given regions which attended given criteria. After touring to the options on the Paulista and Faria Lima avenues, two options were chosen in order to begin negotiations. After a few rounds, the lease contract was signed for the 7th floor of the Trianon Corporate building, located on the Alameda Santos, in the Jardins region of São Paulo.
